Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) Test

前列腺特異抗原檢查(PSA)

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced in both normal and cancerous prostate cells. PSA concentration in blood is detected through blood tests. PSA testing is one of the tools for early detection of prostate cancer, but elevated values do not necessarily indicate cancer, as other urological problems, such as prostatic hyperplasia or inflammation, can also cause PSA elevation. Therefore, PSA test results need to be combined with other examinations, such as digital rectal examination, ultrasound, or biopsy, to make an accurate diagnosis.
