Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)

體外衝擊波碎石(ESWL)

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is a non-invasive method for treating urinary tract stones (such as kidney stones and ureteric stones). It uses shock waves generated externally and focused to fragment stones, breaking them into small pieces that are then expelled through urine. This treatment takes approximately 60 minutes, involves no wound, and is usually performed under monitored anesthetic care.
