Prostate Biopsy

Prostate needle biopsy is performed under ultrasound guidance, by inserting a fine needle into the prostate to obtain tissue samples for pathological examination. This is the “gold standard” for diagnosing prostate cancer. The fine needle enters the prostate through the perineum, reducing infection risk. The process takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes, with the purpose of determining the volume and grading of prostatic tumours.
